new bi- how do i share my site with other people before its live

i am so new to web building, and have no experience. I am a board member for non profit community garden and need some help sharing this site with other who are half way around the world. I built the pages that i want, which are not live yet, and when I want to see them i write:
downtowngreens.org into the browser window with no www.

my question how can other view them? typing the same thing from their laptops is not working.

should be a simple help, right?

Howdy Ry!

I was able to get to the site no problem, but it automatically performed a redirect to http://www.downtowngreens.org. I'm assuming those who cannot are having DNS issues resolving the address. But when I type: nslookup downtowngreens.org, I get the following:

nslookup downtowngreens.org ──(Sat,Jul 21 [203])─┘

When I type nslookuphttp://www.downtowngreens.org

Have they tried the http://www.downtowngreens.org url?

thanks for taking the time,
so i guess whats happening is there is ahttp://www.downtowngreens.page that is currently live, it is a basic green with flowers at the top.

We are trying to move away from a web developer and take it on myself, so i had some help setting up a concrete 5 skin to work off of. To access that skin I do no t use the www. but just type downtowngreens.org

i have completed the C5 page and want my board members to be able to see the new c5 page, but they encounter errors: cant find page,

they can only seehttp://www.downtowngreens.org- the old page.

Howdy Ry,

It sounds you might want to check out this documentation on how to move the development site to production. I used this doc to move mountaincreekcurlies.com into my live site.

Here's the link:http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/installation/moving_a_site#1...

I want to alter a skin that I am using onhttp://www.downtowngreens.org

If you look at the page, there is a large rectangle to the left of our logo
that Id like to use for content. Is this possible and how.

Howdy Ry,

I can't get to the downtowngreens.page site, I get a 404 error. Are the ".page" domains available now? Is the .page domain parked under the .org site or vise-versa? I'm trying to figure out how you have you're site configured. Do you have c5 loaded directly under the ~/htdocs or ~/public_html directory? Are is in a sub-directory/sub-domain?

If not, I'd create a sub-domain under the .org site and copy the c5 files under it. you will probably have to change the configuration as listed in the doc I listed in the previous post.

ryhoppster - I had to block your email replies to the forums because we kept getting the same reply from you every 5 minutes and it was clogging up the forums. You can still reply directly in the forum. Let me know when you have fixed your email problem and I will unblock your email address. Thanks.
