Problem installling C5 into my server. get db error message

Get this message after i hit button Install Concrete5

There are already 166 tables in this database. concrete5 must be installed in an empty database.

I think I am entering something wrong for the SERVER line on the database info side of the form

What normally goes into this space???? I forget, has been about a year since i installed C5 into my server for other domains.

I have used my domain name and also the IP Address. But keep thinking this is not correct info required. Keep getting this error message above.

I know the database was fresh when I built it earlier.

Any thoughts???

You are either trying to connect to a database that is being used by another installation, or you already connected to it, populated it with tables, and now trying to reinstall C5 it is giving you a warning that tables already exist.

You have to create database for each installation. If you are connecting to the new database and it is still giving you this message, you need to go into PhpMyAdmin from your hosting control panel and clear the tables within that database to start over.

Just make sure you are working on the correct database!! Probably a good idea to back up anything you are working on in the event you do something that you can't otherwise recover from.
