If you have been using the standard C5 dashboard page to backup your database, then the database backup files will in your web space at /files/backups/. Thus your host's backup of your web space would include any backups you have taken of your database, BUT ONLY provided you have already taken backups of your database.

If you have not been making database backups, then the answer is no, on a typical shared hosting plan your host's backup of your webspace will not have made database backups for you. Backing up a database is a separate action to backing up webspace files.

Text is stored in the database. Pictures are spread about the files directory, but where they are shown is stored in the database. Unfortunately, without the database you are lost.

If you can describe what sort of damage or mistake you are trying to recover from, there may be some outside chance of getting something back. For example, if your site files have been damaged and then restored, you may be lucky because your database is elsewhere, so may be intact and still usable.
