Updated to 5.6.3.1 and now can't access my website

Hi friends...I had never updated so I went to update from 5.5.2.1 to 5.6.3.1 and now I can't even see my website. I've get the "Page Forbidden. You are not authorized to access this page" message with no way to navigate "back to home."

What happened? More importantly, how to I fix this? I backed up my database prior to updating so I can restore the site but I'd like to be running it on a more current version of Concrete5 than what I've got. Thanks.

When we've upgraded sites from 5.5.x to 5.6.3.x we've upgraded from 5.5.x to 5.6.0 and then 5.6.3 and then whatever the newest release you want is. I know this is kind of a pain, but this is the only way I've found to upgrade without getting the errors that you mention here.

Thanks. I was wondering if I had to "walk through" the updates, iteration by iteration. Now it is too late.

How to I access my site? I can't get past the page forbidden screen.

You'll need to replace your database with the backup and either switch the concrete folder back or remove the configuration variable from your /config/site.php depending how you tried to upgrade
