Upgrade from 5.5.2.1 to 5.6.0.1 Failed -

I have just tried to use the automated upgrade system to upgrade a Concrete5 site from 5.5.2.1 to 5.6.0.1 - however the upgrade process did not complete successfully and instead displayed a Server 500 error.

I am now left with a site which just displays a text header (name of the site) and footer but no content when browsing to any pages - however the admin panel itself seems to work fine.

I tried rerunning the upgrade by accessing this page:
http://www.******.co.uk/cms/tools/upgrade.php...

...this does me an upgrade button, which upon pressing starts the page loading, however after a minute or so I get the same error.

Please help as this is/was a live site, for which I took a DB backup before running.

If the upgrade isn't salvageable, would I simply reupload the full file system, and revert back to an older DB?

I have seen other posts in the past few days of others with the same issue - therefore I've reverted back the DB and filesystem to the previous day and all is now well.

This is the second time that I have used the Upgrade option on two separate C5 sites over the past few years, each time its gone horribly wrong.

I think from this point onwards, I'll be sticking with my stable version ;o)
