Upgrade From Older Versions

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hello,

We have two different versions of Concrete 5 that we want to upgrade from to the latest version.

Are there step-by-step instructions that I could find somewhere? ANy help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Akbar

You can follow these steps:
http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/developers/manually-...

If you are using a version older than 5.7.0 you will only be able to upgrade to 5.6.3.4 and you will need to do it in increments depending on what version you are currently using. You can download old versions here:

My apologies. I should have been more specific.

When I said two versions, I meant we are on 5.4.2.1 for some sites and 5.5.2.1 for some.

Can I upgrade from 5.4.2.1 and 5.5.2.1 to the latest version 0f 5.7.x.x? If yes, please let me know. I am rather new to Concrete5 and some people before me had tried to upgrade to 5.6 unsuccessfully.

Any help or instructions will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Akbar

As I'm sure you've seen from the Download screen "There is NO UPGRADE script from 5.6." This includes all versions prior to 5.6 as well.

You would be able to upgrade each of your sites (in increments) to 5.6.3.4 but you would have to do a fresh install and copy/past all of your pages/content from your current site to your fresh blank 5.7 in order to upgrade to that.

To upgrade from 5.5.2.1 to 5.6.3.4 you'd want to go to 5.6.0, 5.6.3 and then 5.6.3.4 I believe, and for the older one you can upgrade to 5.5.0 and then follow the same steps from above. You'll need to upgrade any packages and themes too
