Help needed with Internationalization setup of an existing site

Greetings,
I've watched the videos and searched the forums, but I can't seem to find an answer to my dilema in getting started with the Internationalization add-on. Specifically, how do I move my existing site to within an "English" folder beneath "Home". The current "Home" page can't be moved or copied.

The site I'm working with contains around 600 pages. What is the best way to move this structure into one compatible with the Internationalization add-on so that I can then duplicate it for each of two more languages?

As a side note, this site encompasses three divisions of the company each with their own tree structure of pages within the site. Ideally, my client wants to just offer two additional languages within just one of those 3 trees. Would it be best to copy only the one tree to each of the two new language trees, and then translate just them, or should I copy the entire site to each of the new language trees and then only translate the one divisional section within each and install the language switch block only on the pages within the translated trees?
