Translation

Hi,

I'm in the french translation team and I sometime receive messages inviting me for translating packages.
For example I've received one concerning "Free Map 0.9.1".
When translating , it's not so easy to write the exact translation if we don't use the add-on concerned.
But ... for example with "Free Map": what is this package ? where is it ? Is it an add-on ? Unable to find it on Concrete5.org... and it's not the first time I've got this problem.
And I wonder for whom I'm doing this translator job !!!
Best regards

Hi Vincent,
concrete5 packages and themes, before being published in the marketplace, are submitted to the concrete5 PRB (Peer Review Board).
Only after they are reviewed and approved, you'll find them in the marketplace.

In order to have translations available when the package is published, the translation system allows translators to translate packages before they are approved. That's why you don't find in the marjetplace the packages you receive notifications for.

Package approval may require from a few days to a few weeks, but if a package doesn't satisfy the strict concrete5 policies and if the authors don't fix the problems highlighted by the PRB members, a package can even never be published. I'm not a member of the PRB, so I can tell you the numbers, but I guess that the packages that are never published are very few.
