Blog Posts filtered into custom MailChimp emails

Greetings all,
I've got a potential upcoming job—not sure if it'll come through or not, but I'm planning on it.
That being said, the basic setup will be a simple c5 site that utilizes the blog features to maintain an ongoing list of events and functions for the client company. I want to use MailChimp integration and be able to setup custom templates that could pull specific blog posts from the past month and auto create a series of emails for me to send out.
So, let's say I have the following blog categories: International News, Products, and Cutting Edge.
Tom wants International News only
Dick wants Product News and Cutting Edge only
Harry wants all 3.
I'm thinking we'll have corresponding lists in MailChimp. When the user signs up, they check off what news they want. Then we have templates setup that pull the blog posts for those categories and auto plugs in the content teasers w/ links to full articles for posts in the past month into the prefab template for me to then send via MailChimp. Scheduling it for monthly deliveries would be a bonus.
Seems like most of the infrastructure is already there w/ the MailChimp and MailMonkey add ons. Just not sure on programming the pulling from the blog posts to auto create.
Advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I developed MailMonkey. It's a great addon and utilizes the full MC API. It's definitely possible. You will need to do some modifications obviously. Not an easy change per se..but doable.

Just give our team a shout when you are ready.http://codestrat.com

Sounds great Chad!
Thanks for replying. I'll be sure to check with you as the project moves forward.
As I said, it may not happen, but I'm prepping for it in case it does.
Thanks again!
