Ongoing site help. As-needed development of front-end & back-end

Permalink 1 user found helpful
We need someone who is skilled in:
• building C5 themes and add-ons
• Linux servers and commands
• using git (I’m pretty sure our previous guy was using git)
• using 3rd party API’s
• PHP, Javascript, HTML & building responsive websites
• killing bugs

A little deeper…
Our current project needs are very light/cosmetic and they will just get your feet wet with our environment. Mainly we are looking to have someone who is available to us when needed. We currently don’t have tons of projects lined up, but at a moments notice will need various things done fairly quickly. Sometimes small, sometimes a bit bigger. (Just want to be up front about we are not going to be your primary source of income, but on occasion may have some meaty/complex project needs.)

We are not looking for someone with design skills. We will be providing you with mockups/layouts of our desired end result. It will be your job to make it look as close as possible to the design.
Feedback on how a provided design might not work given site structure or other technical factors is greatly appreciated. We are looking for someone who can proactively let us know anything that might be done better, faster, more secure, etc. “say it like it is” and be the authority.

We need someone that can adapt to our new API needs as they arise. We currently use four 3rd party API’s on the site. Someone that has experience with API’s and taking data from other services via API’s, manipulating it, formatting it in a new way. Taking data and pushing to 3rd party service via API’s, etc.

We have a SEO company actively working on our site. As they see needs, we need someone to address them. Like the first bullet point item below.

Right now, everything is humming along smoothly for our site. Our needs are mostly cosmetic and light:
• Remove some header tags from a custom add-on that was created for us.
• Update our blog & calendar thumbnail images to be retina images for future posts.
• Update our ecommerce product thumbnail images to be retina
• Add an option for our ecommerce thumbnail images to show a red ribbon on the corner of specific products. We want to choose from 2 words that would be overlaid: New or Sale. (or no ribbon and no text)
• Update our site logo to be retina. (I’ll be providing image.)
• Add image/icon to theme to use for Apples new Pinned Site icon. (I’ll be providing image.)
• Our site structure is Main Home page, then choose your branch location. We need to add 2 new attributes to 13 sub branch pages where each attribute is a file manger picker to choose a PDF file. (We have a template for these branches. So its just a matter of updating the template for the branches.)
• Create a simple block that has 2 drop-down options. First choosing 1 of the 13 pages. Second being 1 of the 2 PDF’s. Once chosen, forces download of PDF.
• The Block needs to be configurable to show all 13 sub pages in the drop-down, also as an option I may want to place the block on a page and just force 1 sub branch page. Then just the 2 PDF’s for that chosen sub page. (we have other blocks designed to work in this fashion, so you can look at the source code to see how we like it to work, once we get started.)
• This block drop-down form needs to maintain the look and feel of the other drop-down forms already in existence on our site. (Should be easy as it should already be defined in our CSS)
• We have a branch building feature, so that when a new branch is opened we just provide a name and a script is run that builds out the pages. I just need to make sure that that process will still work with and including the new PDF attributes.
• Modify shopping cart links at the top of site. Remove “Login” link option. Only show links when an item is in the cart.

As the updates are created, we need the updates published to a staging environment. (A duplicate copy of our site where we can test each update before they are published) Once updates are approved, then we need them pushed over to our production server for the rest of the world to see.
