While Portland Labs steams ahead with v9, c5.6 still has many advantages of stability, light weight, simplicity and a big marketplace of free and paid addons and themes. Not as sophisticated as v7+, but that is the attraction of it.

We need a proper release of the 5.6.4 update before everything comes to an end. As well as Michele's php7 changes, it now needs to have marketplace and newsflow integration removed.

With key addons such as eCommerce being abandoned, we need their license to be changed to MIT or GPL so others can maintain them.

I still get sales from 5.6 addons, so will be looking to establish a new channel for sales and support.
