Cant install theme locally with XAMP

Hello, I am totally new to Concrete 5.
I got concrete5 up and running with XAMP and successfully bought the frame theme and linked it to the project. When I try to install the theme, it says "download failed" when using "extend concrete 5" option. (I am translating this from my german install). When I browse the themes list and try to download from there, I am told to install manually and I am redirected to the theme-site (Frame), but I cant fit a theme-zip file or soemthing like that there. THANKS for all help, Oliver

Hello,

there can be several reasons why the theme can't download.

Maybe your download folder doesn't have the proper permissions in place so the download can't happen.

Another possibility is that the proper port is blocked by your firewall so the download is not happening. But if you managed to connect to the community it's probably not that.

Finally if you want to install manually to make things easier, just download the theme and extract it in your "packages" folder. You will then be able to install it normally and activate the theme

You may find that 'allow_url_fopen' PHP setting is disabled on your hosting, this would stop the download of files from an external location. Speak with your host or if you use cPanel look in the PHP settings you may be able to enable it.
