Custom colours get set back to presets

Hi everyone,

first of all an apology if this issue had been solved before. I tried looking through the documentation and searching the forums as well as google.

I'm completely new to concrete5 and as many other questions in this forum begin - I thought I could handle this without coding.

I understand that themes are created with a certain design in mind, but I guess changing the font colors or background colors to match your brand should be possible. I'd also love to use Century Gothic as a font, but I'll live if I can't do that :)

So here's what I did:

I was working with the Elemental design and followed every step in this part of the docs
http://documentation.concrete5.org/editors/in-page-editing/the-tool...

I was able to nicely adjust all the colors as I wanted. I saved and everything looked great. Later I decided to also change the background image of the slider, so I opened the customizer again.

Now all the colors I had carefully changed earlier were set back to one of the presets! Do I have to change everything every time I want to change just one thing? That seems a bit weird. Is there a way to save my customizations?

I found other forums discussions where it was suggested to just delete all the presets from a folder except for the default one which could be changed. But I don't even know how to find those files and then delete them :) Would I need to set up an FTP client?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hello everyone,

a little update - I ended up going with a different template and everything worked fine. Nothing go set back anymore.

Now I am filling my page with content and I run into a very similar problem. I am on a page and click the gear icon to change things like the thumbnail, URL slug etc. I click publish. Everything is there. Next time I go into this settings panel everything is set back to what it was BEFORE my last change.

I am starting to think this is some very specific thing to my computer or my settings but I am despreate. Anybody able to help?

Thank you so much!

This probably isn't it, but...

When you customise the config, you have to click 'save changes' on the lower right. This is easily missed because normally you're looking for 'save' on the top left.

You also need to be careful about saving changes to the page or the whole site. I've never been confident with this, not knowing whether previous changes at one level would be reverted by a change at the other.

Hi Gondwana,
Thanks so much for responding! Just to make sure after your post I tried every combination of hitting save or publish I could find :) Unfortunately that did not help.

What did help was simply working in a different Browser! I used IE at first and after opening it in Chrome everything was fine. Very upsetting to have wasted so much time on this, but at least it is working now.

Glad to hear it! I hope it was an old version of IE; one would hope that c5 would work with any reasonably recent and standards-compliant browser.
