Intergrating "Styled Buckets" in themes

Hi, just wondering how you go about integrating 'buckets' that have CSS applied to them (similar to the C5 homepage - the three Editors, Developers, Designers buckets at the top). Is this part of the original html/css template, or are these somehow built within the content areas? And does this mean that the homepage has one theme applied to it, whilst the other pages in the site work off a different theme? Sorry, I'm only new and trying to get my head around it all. ;)

To achieve what you are asking you should use different page types in your theme. Page types of a theme can be considered as different layouts within the theme. Those different layouts may have different editable areas and different css rules applied.

Many themes includes four page types when installed: 'Full width', 'Left sidebar', 'Right sidebar' and 'Blog'.
