I do now know of any other useful resources outside of Concrete, mainly because of the business model that Concrete follows. All addons and themes in the marketplace go through an extensive review process, so they are really only available here.

However, there are some developers that have their own C5 sites devoted to Concrete-related stuff. I plan on doing this myself soon, as well.

Also, some developers - including myself - offer custom theme and addon development for C5 as an extra service.

I don't think you will find too many add-ons 'in the wild' because the concrete.org website is the safest repository. I have found that many developers showcase their add-ons on their own sites but they just link back here for the purchase.

You can build your own blocks with jordanlev's wonderful free add-on called 'Designer Content'.
