Page Type Icons not seen by Edit "DESIGN" selection.

Permalink 1 user found helpful
I have a new page theme and getting the system to recognize the new addition has been frustrating.

Background: The Icon was added via the FileManager to the "Page Type Icons" set. The Dashboard THEME for the new addition XYZ.php does list it and says will use page-type "XYZ". The DashBoard PAGETYPE lists the name "XYZ", and the "settings" does show the proper Icon has been selected.

Now the problem. I select the Page "Design" option and the available Icons doesn't show the page-type for XYZ.

I've cleared the cache, and still nadda.

Does anyone know the magic process to get this in sync.

thanks,
Dennis

Please try this one. I think it provide solution for you.
copy manually the icon in the folder
Your root directory\concrete\images\icons\page_types.
then icon will appear on page types icon.

Yes, I use to use that method before the the FileManager "Page Type Icons" became the rule. I did try the suggestion and no luck.

Again, I have no problem with themes and page types on other systems. I have a duplicate setup on a LocalHost system and on a other Website I use for testing.

Unfortunately the Production site has the problem.

On that site the Dashboard Inspect Theme indicates everything Ok and the DashBoard Pagetypes shows the right icon. It's when I go to the Website Edit DESIGN that everything is screwed up. Many of the icons don't show even though the screen claims it's getting icons from the Page Type Icons fileset. I've clear the cache, with no good results. I tried uploading a similar theme and it's corrupted too.

I hate to rant here, but this whole association for using an Icon, though yes it's convenient, seems rather convoluted. I know what page type file I want, yet there's no direct way of selecting it.

My only other course is to tear down this site completely and perform a fresh install.
