Should I keep a copy of a theme before changing it?

I'm a newbie to Concrete5. I've just bought a theme and i am now going through adding content and deleting blocks, etc, that I do not want to display on a particular page. I then had a terrible thought ... what if I want to get those deleted blocks back?

Should I have saved a version of the theme first before I started modifying it, so I could go back, or would it just be a case of re-applying the theme again over the top of what I have already done.

May be a stupid question ...

If you're just changing things through the CMS then you don't need to save a copy, all of the blocks in your theme should be available for you to re-add later if you so choose.

If you are changing things in the files on the server it might be a good idea to keep a backup.
