Theme license question

I want to buy a theme, put it on one of my "dummy" domains to test it out, and then when I'm comfortable, remove the license from the dummy domain and put it on the real domain I want it on.
Can you transfer theme license like that?
(My "dummy" domain is just one I have that I don't really use for anything, just got it a while back and kept the name)
