5.5.1, the Clipboard and Forms

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Perhaps I misunderstand the capabilities of the new Clipboard but here's a simple thing that doesn't seem to work in 5.5.1.

This problem can be duplicated on a C5 hosted test site.

1) Create a form on a page, save the page
2) Re-Edit the page and copy the form to the Clipboard
3) Go to a new page and paste that form from the Clipboard.
4) Edit the new instance of the form and things get screwy.

Editing the new form to 'detach' it from the original doesn't seem possible. If you click on the 'Edit' or the 'Display' tab, you get an 'Invalid Permissions' message. If you try to save this edited form, you get a message stating 'Please add at least one question to this form' even though there are several questions already present. Even if you try to add a new question to the form, the 'Add Question' button doesn't respond.

Is there something special about forms that prevents them from being used with the Clipboard like I'm trying to do? If so then perhaps the system shouldn't allow forms to be added to the Clipboard in the first place. I don't remember having this issue with the Scrapbook but I might be wrong.

Inndeed. I have the same issue right now.

It's great waste that there is no public / custom scrapbooks anymore. It was nice feature for me...

Anyway...
Copying predefined forms seems to be a bug. There is no chance to submit modified form after paste (in my case)

Gosh, could C5 team fix it, please? :)

Hi,

I'm having this same problem with last updated versions.
It seems a problem with an inherit permission....
