Add block in c5.8.1.0

Ok. So I have all the correct code in the template.
Editable area is showing up as 'Empty content Area'.
Click on it go to the + button and drag a text block to the area.
And it freezes the page with the text block icon sitting over the editable area.
Is this a bug or am I doing something fundamentally wrong?

Hello Trixiemay,

I don't have this problem with Concrete5 8.1.
I think it might be a javascript problem.

When I switched to Concrete5 8.1 I had to make some changes in the page_theme.php and exclude some javascript files.

Thanks.

It is not a problem with any block but the Text Block - which is what my client will be using most!

Hi trixiemay,

When you are editing and adding blocks, do you receive any browser console errors?

Like nesoor said, this is very likely a JavaScript conflict and/or a CSS conflict.

Will check the console. At the moment the site won't log me in "Your IP address has been banned".

I get the attached js errors. As a purely front-end design guy I have no idea what they mean. I have followed all installation and template creation instruction to the law but no joy...

SOLVED.

I uninstalled the theme then re-installed and activated!
