An unexpected error occurred updating

Hi everyone. I am an admin on our website and I had just finished doing a backup, and then updated to a newer version, I think 5.5.2.1. I then tried to do the update to 5.6, and I get this message when I clicked on update:

This really has me frustrated, as this has been fairly simple to use so far. I can't get logged back into the dashboard for admin. It seems the entire site is down. I'm not a guy who does code, I simply expected the update to work. How can I get logged back in and use the backup I did prior to this update crash?

Thank you for any help you can be!!!!

I've read some of the other threads, and not really sure where to start. I appreciate the help.

There is currently a bug with 5.6.3.2, to work around this you can edit 1 file

in /updates/concrete5.6.3.2/concrete/core/libraries/model.php

delete everything and replace it with the following:

Thanks for the reply Mnkras. How do I get back into updates? I can't login... Do I need to do this from the server, which is dreamhost?

Yes, via ftp/web filemanager

I replaced this file with what you recommended, and still get the same error. I saved the 5.5.2.1 backup file to my desktop.

Can I do a one-click install with Concrete5 like it's a new website, which shows the latest version as 5.6.3.1, and then use the backup file to get my original website back to 5.5.2.1?

That link I posted is if you attempt the 5.6.3.2 update, changing that file should allow the update to proceed

Correction, the backup that I have would take me to the version prior to 5.5.2.1, so can I delete the entire file that has 5.6.3.2 since it also shows 5.5.2.1? This version was working before I tried the update...

Thanks!

I have an .sql file of the backup, and also show that same file in my ftl host files. I just can't figure out how to get back in to use that backup file and revert it.

You need to edit /config/site.php and possibly restore that file via phpMyAdmin, edit the site.php first.
