Button links only works if I'm logged in

Hi C5,
There is someting weird going on. When I'm logged in , my home page configuration has links displayed as they should be horizontally, and the lilnks work. If I'm logged out, they are displayed vertically, and don't work (the page just reloads). I have no clue as to what's going on, but this seems only to affect that page
I added a rewrite in the htaccess to force ssl, but this was going on before that. My site is split into english and french locales, but are configured correctly.
I had problems upgrading to 5.7.5.2... my environment shows core version 5.7.5.2 and version installed 5.7.5.1 and weird things have been happening since then (like most times when clicking on the design button a blank menu page slides in).
I would be so grateful if someone had a clue and could guide me to fixing this up.

There could be some javascript code interfering that is only on when logged in. It'll be easier if you had a live link so we could check the page?
