File Manager is not working

Today, 07/23/2012, the FILE MANAGER inside my Concrete5 website/Dashboard is not working. It has always worked before without any problem, and it worked great yesterday.

In the Documentation section of the Concrete5.org website, on a page explaining FILE MANAGER, it gives a screen shot of FILE MANAGER and shows how on the second row from the top, the FILE MANAGER has "ADD FILES", BROWSE, and UPLOAD buttons.

Today, my FILE MANAGER does not have ADD FILES/BROWSE/UPLOAD buttons. All of those buttons are missing from my version of FILE MANAGER! Those buttons were there yesterday, but not today.

And, also, another thing: Inside my Dashboard, there is no option to click on "File Manager". There was that option yesterday, but not today. Today, under the Files heading on the Dashboard, there are only 3 options: Search, Attributes, and File Sets. My memory is that yesterday, "File Manager" was one of the options, and it was the top option. Today, the top option is "search", and this "search" takes me to a "File Manager" that does not have the ADD FILES, BROWSE, and UPLOAD buttons. And, also what is missing, are my files. All of my files are gone; there are no files in today's new version of File Manager.

(The images that I uploaded yesterday, to the BlueBerry Responsive Slider, are all working nicely on the homepage, but they are all absent from the "File Manager".)

What has happened? I am trying to complete my editing of a new website, and cannot upload the images. Can anyone suggest a remedy?

Thank you very much for your time and help. I am very appreciative and look forward to hearing from you!

An answer to at least one of your questions.

To get the 'upload file' buttons back-

Go to Dashboard >> System and Settings >> Permissions & Access>> Allowed File Types... and see if there are any filetypes listed; if not, then add the following filetypes -

flv, jpg, gif, jpeg, ico, docx, xla, png, psd, swf, doc, txt, xls, xlsx, csv, pdf, tiff, rtf, m4a, mov, wmv, mpeg, mpg, wav, avi, m4v, mp4, mp3, qt, ppt, pptx, kml, xml
