How to delete "Layouts"?

Permalink 1 user found helpful
I added a layout in the upper left block/box in the header. Now there are 4 columns there but I can't delete them. How can I remove this?

You can see it in the attached file

If you hover over one of the columns, you should be able to click on the column label and select "Edit Container Layout". Once the layout menu appears, simply click on the trash icon.

Since this is a Global Area (according to the screenshot), if this does not work, you can always go to Dashboard -> Stacks and Blocks. Then change from "View Stacks" to "View Global Areas", click on the appropriate area and select the Version History menu to delete the current version and roll back to a previous version

hope this helps!

I am looking for the same solution. When I click on the field label, there is no "Edit Container Layout". I have clicked everywhere and the menu that pops up is the same. It has an "Add layout" but no Edit or delete of any kind. I can't roll back to a previous collection because I will loose more than just these fields and I don't want to have to re-construct the whole page.

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Hi,

have you added the layout you want to delete to a Global Area or a normal area?

If it's a global area you can roll back to a previous version withou losing the changes to the page (you will only lose the changes to the global area).

More information (specific version you're using, type of area, screenshots, etc.) would make it easier for us to help you.

Not a global area. I updated my page template and just removed the area in question. I don't need it anyway. This is no longer problem right now.
