How to Insert a PDF?

Permalink 1 user found helpful
This may seem like a dumb simple task, but I can't find any way to just launch a PDF when an image is clicked. Without using standard FTP, is there something basic in C5 I might be missing to do this?

Insert File Block just provides a link, not a graphic image, to launch the file.

Any help is appreciated, with thanks.

This is very simple to do. Concrete includes a 'Content' block that you can do this with. First, make sure your PDF file is uploaded. Follow these steps:

1. Using the Content block, add your image into the content.

2. While still in edit mode and with content block edit dialog open, click ONCE on the image that you want to add the link to.

3. In the selector above the editor, select 'Link to File'.

4. Select the file that you will link to.

5. Save and publish page.

That's it! Let me know if this helped and were able to do this with success.

Would anybody be able to help me out with what I need to do in Concrete 5 to display a PDF at 100%? So, when someone clicks on the PDF icon that's sitting on a webpage, I want that PDF to open bigger than it currently is. Many thanks in advance.

Open your pdf in Acrobat .. go to File ===> Document Properties ===> Open Options ==> Magnification and set it as you desire. Now do a "save as".
