Increase Title Font

I am playing around with Elemental which shipped as the default theme in 5.7. I am trying to increase the size of the title font. Is there a max. font size? Perhaps it's already there. What is the best method to try? Thanks.

When you are logged in, you simply click the gear icon in the top left of your screen. Click "Design" and below "Theme" you click "Customize".

Now you see a panel, where you click on the icon next to whatever you want to change. Take a look at the attached screenshot. ;-)

This should give you a good starting point.

Your answer surprised me. I have been using the pencil icon next to the gear icon to try to make edits.

I tried your suggestion but it didn't work, unfortunately. I made changes and saved them. There was no change to the title. When I went back to try again, the changes I had made had changed back to their original settings. I tried again with the same result. Curiously, the Uppercase box is checked but the actual title is a mix of upper and lower case - which is what I want. There doesn't seem to be any connection between the Customize Theme/Page Titles box and the actual title that appears on screen.

Sorry, my bad. I've marked the wrong title in my screenshot.

You have to change the "Site Title" in the "Header" section.

edit: The changes you make using the pencil icon are only on the current page you are editing. So if you'd try to change the size of a title, you'd have to do this on every single page.

Site Title in Header section didn't work for me either.

I've just tested with a clean installation (with demo content) and it works fine for me, just as expected.

Did you turn of caching for your site? Sounds like the old version of your page is still cached, either in C5 itself or your browser.

Before I started playing, I turned off caching in C5. I just cleared the cache anyway. No change in the situation. Hmmm, strange.

That's strange, indeed. Actually I have no more ideas except for clearing your browser's and C5's cache manually, to see if this will change anything.

I just cleared browser cache to no effect. Apparently, I can't make changes using the gear icon area. Perhaps I should get a clean installation also. May I ask why you use the gear icon area as opposed to the pencil icon area. Thanks.

Of course you may ask. :-)
From the settings menu, the Design tab lets you change the way this page and your whole site looks. The pencil icon edits the current page inline and affects only the current page.

So for global changes in a theme I use the design tab. For changing only one specific page I normally use inline editing. Inline editing is good, as long as you do not want to reuse the change of design on other pages.
Here are two links to which might help you to understand the concept:

I'm not sure if you already know the docs. You'll find quite a lot info about theme and style customization. Watching the screencasts helped me a lot, though I've spent a lot of time reading and watching to understand the basic concept of C5. ;-)

Thanks. I think I'll download another copy of the theme and start over. It's quite a learning experience.

I'm also trying to get my profile picture to display correctly. So far, all I have is a nose, lol.

I downloaded a fresh copy of Concrete5 with Elemental. It helped a little. When I increased the font size and saved, the onscreen title increased. When I hit the gear to close out, the title reverted. The changes within gear also reverted. Hmmm.

I tried to follow your steps. After I've changed the font size, I clicked "Save Changes" and applied changes to the entire site. The Panel disappeared and I am back at the home page just where I started with the title showing in correct font size. Clicking "cancel" or not choosing "entire site" or "this page" will not store your settings, though you clicked "save changes" before.

I've attached a screenshot for reference.

I found the problem. I never clicked on the "Save Changes" in the lower right of the screen because I never noticed it. I only clicked save in the black area and thought that was enough.

Thanks
