Lost ability to insert links

Over the last two months, the ability to create a link either by highlighting text or using an image as a hot link has disappeared. When the "link" icon is clicked on, the "add link" popup appears and data may be added, but as soon as "save" is clicked, the entered information disappears and the link is not established.
