Only administrators can login the dashboard

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hi,

I managed to use advanced permissions. I also created a group named siteManagers and I would like that users in this group access the dashboard as well (I didn't find any options on how to restrict some sections from the dashboard for instance...)

The problem is, when an administrator logs in (found under the default group Administrators) he is redirected to the dashboard. On the other hand, when a siteManager logs in, nothing happens, the login screen shows up again with the last admin info already inserted in the username and password fields.

However, the session is still created because if I remove /dashboard from the URL, I can still edit pages with the permissions of siteManagers.

Is this a bug or something? How can I resolve it?

Many thanks in advance.

Regards

attaching screenshots: sitemap permissions.

When you set a group to be able to see the dashboard, it allows them all over. You then need to go through each page(off of sitemap) where you don't want them to go and change those back.

Perfect Scott!
Just a little addition. You can redirect admin users to the dashboard automatically. Look at the screenshothttp://image-upload.de/image/Qt4tNk/71b1f78c5c.png...

Thanks Scott. I managed!

One other problem though. I have set the login redirect to homepage and administrators to dashboard. Now, both administrators and siteManagers are being redirected to the dashboard as I want them to.

However, Registered Users are having the same problem, the login screen re-loads (although the session is created and they are logged in successfully. Its just that they are not redirected back to the homepage).

See screenshot attached to see the settings

sounds like a bug if that is indeed the case. I don't have anything set up to reproduce this right now.

These are what I think to be pretty new features, I have been out of the loop for a while, but i trust what you are saying.

Hi,

It was a bug with the theme I selected. I was using 'Green Salad Theme'. When I switched back to the default 'Plain Yogurt' theme, when a registered user signs in, it gets redirected to the home page.

By the way, this CMS has too much awesomeness. I tried lots of CMSs but this one has the best simplicity/flexibility ratio.

Congrats to all the developers!
