Page redirect attribute does not work in navigation

After adding a page and adding 'page redirect' attribute to direct user to another page on the website, the redirect does not work in the main navigation (mega menu). Works in other places on the site just not where i need it to i.e. in the main navigation..
Has anyone seen this issue with internal redirects? Is there a solution?
Beginning to wish i had invested in a different cms now - as c5 is strewn with issues.
Thanks for reading..

Hi PMorrison,

What version of concrete5 are you using?

Have you asked the Page Redirect add-on developer if the add-on supports what you are trying to do?

Hi,
I am having issues with redirects which may have to do with the plugin.

The URL is switching over and back between other domains which are hosted in the same package. The switch does not follow any pattern but is arbitrary when I click over and back through the navigation. Also the admin toolbar disappears and reappears.

I have been on the phone with the hosting company support who have gone through all redirects implemented on their server (All domains point to the domain under which the site is hosted)... Has anyone any suggestions?

Page Redirect uses a 301 redirect.
Did you edit and change any of the attributes that you used ?
Does it work on other browsers that you didn't use yet to view your site ?
You might have to clear your browsers cache...

Hi WilhemAnchor,

no, I didn't change any attribute I've used. I have pretty URLs switched on and use the page redirect plugin for a multilanguage setup as suggested in a tutorial:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzZs3m-PSVA... - maybe this is causing issues. The host also limits redirects to 4, but I am not getting an error in the logs for this, so I'm presuming this has not been exceeded.
I have discovered, that firefox and IE automatically prefix a www before the URL, and work, but Chrome switches between www. and no www. and them moves between various domain names.

Thanks,
Una

Hi,
I've checked this again in other browsers, and its happening there too now.

I have disabled the htaccess pretty url rewrites to no effect and am still at a loss as to what this might be caused by. Has anyone any idea on this?

Thanks,
Una

I had this issue but it would work in some browsers and not others. I was using the add-on. What got it working again for me was to just uninstall the add-ons and reinstall. Not ideal but...
