Replacing a block on a page - concrete 5.6

I am using the Full Page page type for a photo gallery. There is one block on the page -- a custom block I designed using a javascript photogallery. The old gallery does not work well with mobile so I put together a new custom block using a responsive photo gallery. I now want to edit the page -- deleting the old block and add the new block. Should be simple.

When I edit the page the red dashed line showing the current block is also covering the "add to main" block beneath it. When I delete the old block it also deletes the add to main so I have not place to add my new block. Very strange behavior. On my other pages I do not seem to have this problem.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Thank you.

Sounds like a CSS problem or maybe js.

DO you have any error messages in the console log? especially in edit mode?

No errors on the console log when I delete the block.

I am using a theme supplied by Hostco. It is their coding on the Full Page template. I am beginning to think the error might be with the template. Please let me contact them before you spend any more time on the issue.

Thank you.

BTW - a quick an dirty fix that worked was to go to go back to the very first version of the page before I added the first image gallery block. I will still pursue the cause of the problem.
