Site-wide password

Hi all,

I'm thinking about building a new site with concrete5 and have a little question up front:

Is it possible to protect the whole website with a password? (easy password without username) I don't want to work with page permissions or the login system because that would require a login with username and password.

Thanks in advance!

There is this add-on:http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/page-password1...

Still, I would suggest you reconsider the login password solution instead.

Without tinkering too much with permissions, you have an option that sets sitewide access to only selected users. You could set access only to the admin like that you are asked to log in to access the site and once you do you are logged in as the admin and are ready to work on your site.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'll look into that.
However, the whole thing with customizing the login page etc. seems awfully complicated. I've read a bit about the whole override procedure, but for someone like me (who is not handling code all the time) it is a bit much.
I'm planning to build a small site that is only visible for a selected group of people with login.
Thanks anyway!

Oh no, there is absolutely no coding or overriding involved. It's all included in Concrete5 already.

If you're using v8 for instance, in your dashboard, go to System & Settings. From there look for Permissions & Access and under it click on Site Access

It will take you to a page where you can select if the site is public or accessible only t the administrator group, or only to registered users

It's very simple, don't worry about any technical aspect
