Loading image (for dialogs) doesn't go away if request doesn't finish

If you open a dialog that either never loads or timesout, the loading dialog does not go way even after closing the dialog.
What should happen when closing the dialog (either by hitting a button, the X or hitting esc) is that it hides the loading image.
