required field on repeatable

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi Ramon

I noticed that selecting fields as Required on the Repeatable item and any of its included fields does not take effect. eg when completing block its possible to just update non repeatable and leave repeatable tab without the usual notfication. Is that correct ?

Thanks
Rob

Hi Rob,

Not sure if I understand the problem. Do you have a config.json file I can use to create a Block Type or you can make a video maybe?

Kind regards,

Ramon

Hi Ramon

attached file .. so all fields are ticked as required even the repeatable. When adding block if you leave text field empty you get the error that it must be completed which is ok. If you fill in the text field and don't bother with the repeat tab ( which is ticked as required) it does not throw any error message which it should do as its a required field.

Hi Rob,

I think I understand your situation now. You've checked the "Required" checkbox for the "Repetable" field called "repeat". But you can submit the form with no errors, even though you did not add any items to the "repeat" field, correct? It may be a bit confusing indeed, but you'd need to set the "Minimum number of items" to 1 for example if you want to require it. Or 2 even, if you want to have a minimum of 2. I must admit, it may be a bit confusing. Therefore I updated Block Designer and this checkbox won't be there anymore for this specific field type (Repeatable).

Hope this covers it all for you?

Kind regards,

Ramon
