Blogga is a FREE, full featured blogging package providing a simple yet powerful way to manage multiple blogs on your site.

Features:

  • tags
  • categories
  • uses Concrete5's built in version control and drafting features
  • post thumbnail images
  • commenting control
  • custom page templates
  • rss feed capability
  • social networking share buttons
  • Post preview character truncating control

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

IMPORTANT: After receiving feedback about this add-on, some clarifications need to be made upfront.  Blogga doesn't attempt to reinvent the wheel: Concrete5 already has all the functionality of a powerful blogging system built-in, it just doesn't organize/categorize/present things in a blog like fashion. The goal with Blogga is simply to provide the mechanisms to easily create, categorize, and display "posts" (which are actually pages) in a more traditional Blog style. This package includes the tools to do so.

The dashboard component of Blogga is there to help setup posts, and manage blogs (if you have multiple) throughout your site. Unlike other blogging systems, and (I believe?) the other blog packages available in the marketplace, you will never add/edit/create content from the dashboard. The beauty of C5 is its powerful inline editing capability, so why take that away? (Some people do prefer adding content from a dashboard, so I'd recommend using one of the other blogging packages if thats your preference).

Also, please make sure to check out the "Help" tab after installing Blogga. There are screenshots, explanations, and a general overview/getting started. Enjoy!
