How can I change the slider to fade the images in rather than show them in the 3D effect?

I just want the slideshow to do what it does but in 2D is that possible? what file/s do I need to modify?

No, it's not possible. I do have an add-on that will do exactly what you're after, though. Check out:http://c5extras.com/add-ons/slider/...
