Breadcrumbs migration from data-vocabulary.org to schema.org
Permalink Browser Info Environment
Dear Devoda team,
Google Search Console is advising breadcrumb data to be migrated to the schema.org syntax ; are you planning to alter the automated breadcrumb construction to either allow a choice between the two, or to follow that migration ?
Thanks for your support.
Best regards,
Christian

Hi Ramon,
now that I'm returning to Search Console, it shows up as an error.
Search Console > Improvements > Breadcrumbs : "data-vocabulary.org schema is obsolete"
The website itself is rendering fine, but the notice is about enriched search results, as described here :https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/breadcrumb...
It would make most sense to use JSON-LD schema.org annotation, since this kind of structure is already available at website and page levels within the addon.
Thanks for your support.

Hi Christian,
I've updated the Add-On to version 1.6.0 - which has the new Schema.org implementation. As this new setup uses list items (<ol> and <li>), it may be that the looks will be different if you had styling added to this particular navigation before. Be sure to check that. Also let me know if the implementation is as expected. I checked and double checked the guidelines, and everything should be fine. Still, it's good to get this confirmation.
Let me know when you tried it out!
Kind regards,
Ramon

Thanks for your feedback !
I do see version 1.6.0 on the marketplace, but when going to extend/install on the dashboard, I still see version 1.5.3 ; I tried clearing the site cache, to no avail.
I did perform a backup of settings : does that cover general settings, or also custom page attributes ?
If so, I could try uninstall/reinstall.
I'm running version 8.5.2 at the moment.
Cheers,
Christian

Hi Christian,
You still don't see it now? May be a concrete5 caching thingy here. It looks all good on my end and on the marketplace, so it should pop up by now. Can you confirm? Otherwise we'd have to contact someone of concrete5 to see what's wrong, since it should be working as all other versions (it's even popping up on the marketplace page as 1.6.0 and I can also download this version).
You could go down the "manual download and extract" path though. There aren't any downsides to it, but it's just a manual process.
Let me know if you got it working or not!
Kind regards,
Ramon

Can you let me know what message you get and how this new implementation should be?
I am assuming since you say "advising", that the current approach is still working (for now)?
Kind regards,
Ramon
