IE error on checkout page

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi

We have just bought this add-on and are extremely impressed by it. However we have come across a bug in ie 7 (not too sure on other ie versions as of yet).

Firstly when you view the main product items they do not appear in a line, they stack on top of each other one by one. This may just be a css issue as this was happening on your demo page as well. (however this does not matter too much)

The main issue is that when we go onto the checkout page using ie7 you cannot view the items which you have purchased it just gives two grey boxes and a bullet point on the left. It does not show, the product image, quantity, price, total price and the ability to remove the item. (shown in the attached image)

we are unsure whether it is a problem with the some clashing css/javascript. We have tried to comment out the other uses of javascript on the page yet it still does not seem to resolve the problem.

Could you please advise on how we can fix this. The site we are working on is a customised natural wood theme and the page sits onhttp://www.oldschoolthai.co.uk/buy-online/...

Regards Simon

It's likely to be a CSS clash with the theme or a Javascript clash with the theme or another block on the page. I'd suggest the easiest way to test for this is add a new test page to the site and apply the default "Plain Yogurt" theme to that page. Then add the eCommerce block by itself. If that works fine, then try changing the page theme to your Natural Wood, and if that causes the issues, then it confirms the theme is the cause and needs some adjustments.

Let me know how you go.

We have made changed that particular page to the default "Plain Yogurt" theme, logged into the site using ie7 and the problem still seems to be their. However we only have a grey box no bullet point this time. We have removed our google tracking code in case this could have caused the problem. not too sure what the problem is as it seems to work on your demo site in the same theme template but not in ours? the only difference i can see is that we are running the latest concrete 5 could this be where the error lies?

Can you please provide a link to the test page (with Plain Yogurt), so I can what's going and pinpoint?

Here is the original link where it is currently using our custom theme:

And here is the ecommerce using the "plain yogurt" theme:

Thanks for your help...

Looking at some of the CSS, it seems you've customised some parts. Can you please try backing up your package, then download a copy of the original package and upload it to your site. If that works fine, then some customisation you've made has caused the issue.

If it still does strange things (after you have cleared the C5 cache in the Dashboard), please let me know to take another look.

yeah we made some small ammends to the css.

We have now uninstalled your e-commerce package and the reinstalled it cleared the cache of our C5 as well as our web browser, it is now unedited and in the plain yogurt theme at /test-buy-online/. yet the items still don't seem to appear

Ok, it looks like there's 1 Javascript error on that new page. It appears to be based on the custom shipping rate you set, there may be a syntax error in it. The easiest way to test is just make a copy of that (in Notepad, for example), then clear out the custom shipping calc and put something simple in like the "flat" option.

If that works, then just take another look at your syntax and ensure it's valid JS code. See the notes on the shipping page in the Dashboard for some sample code you can use.

Hope this helps.
