Block Insertion/Nesting
Permalink Browser Info Environment
Great block, well designed UI. Thank you!
Would be great if we were able to insert this into a content block so an encrypted e-mail can be placed in running copy in a content block.
Is this possible? Am I missing something obvious?

Hi Steve
Thanks + glad to hear it!
This is one of those usability thing that I think could break when handing a site off to client for day-to-day management. If this could be "built-in" to a content block, that would make functionality more clear than having to insert a separate block. in the middle of what would otherwise be running copy.
Here's a dev site we're working on with an example.
The first page shows the plug-in inserted as a separate block
http://savorsyracuse.org/new/corporate-sponsorship/...
on the contact us page
http://savorsyracuse.org/new/contact-us/...
We've used Enkoder to generate javascript that we've inserted via the HTML mode
Hope this helps clarify, if needed.
Cheers.

Yes, I agree about the day-to-day usability issue. FWIW, I'm working on an add-on which will provide a flexible way to list information about users in the system. So for instance, you'll be able to list contact information for users within a specific group. And a nifty side benefit is that it will take advantage of the EEA add-on if installed to automatically encrypt the address.
IOW, what you are now using an HTML block to do could be done with my [upcoming] listing block. A huge advantage, of course, is that changing any of the info for that user via the dashboard would result in the page content automatically updating since the data will be pulled from the C5 user DB. Anyway, more details will be forthcoming as it nears completion.
Thanks again for the feedback,
-Steve

As another thought, it would be a nice implementation if any e-mails were just auto-enkoded/encrypted without having to do anything extra.
I think there are services out there which do that. One problem is that it would be a lot of needless overhead to scrape each and every page for email addresses to encrypt even if the page contains no email addresses (performance considerations). And if you're using a service - especially if it's free - you'd best be sure you know what they're doing with those addresses. (Privacy is kinda the whole point.) I prefer to have more "deliberate" control over email addresses that I'm making public. Also, it's not clear to me how such a solution would be implemented within C5's architecture. At any rate, you'll not likely see such a solution coming from me, but I do appreciate the feedback.
Do keep in mind that, as with any C5 block, if you want the same info (address) to appear in multiple places throughout the site (e.g. footer, sidebar, etc.), you can add the block to the global scrapbook and then place the block wherever you need it by pasting from the scrapbook. That way, you need update just the scrapbook entry, and the change will be reflected throughout the site.

No, you are not missing anything. EEA is a separate and distinct block type and as such cannot be "embedded" into another block.
That said, however, I agree 100% that it would be great to incorporate an encrypted address into a richer context. You might well see something in the future to address that.
