"Read More" link leads to a blank page

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I have followed the instructions, and almost everything seems to work - question and short answer - exept for the full answer, which doesn't show up: following the "Read More" link leads to a blank answer page, named as the question.

Maybe there is a problem with the page type, that has to be selected while creating a new FAQ entry? How can i achieve, that the content of the full answer is displayed correctly?

Besides, the links to pages created for the full answer are visible in the main navigation. Shouldn't they have the page attribute "Exclude From Nav" by default? Or has that to be assigned to each answer page manually?

Hi okapi,

So the Example Faq takes the info you submit in the dashboard interface and uses it to populate the properties of the pages it creates:

Question becomes the new page's Name.

Brief Answer becomes the page's Description.

Lastly, Full Answer takes your text and places it in a Content block in the Main area of the new page.

I would check your page type to make sure that it has an area called "Main". If not, the page type will never try to render the content block you've created.

The pages created are intended to be displayed by the custom template for the Page List that is included in the package. So on your "FAQ" landing page, you might set up a page list block set to display all pages beneath the current page. Then apply the Example Faq Page List template, and you'll get a list of links to your question pages. Clicking expands the page description text as the "short answer", and "Read More" is a link to the page, where the Main area should display the content block that was placed inside when you created the page from the dashboard.

The only attribute you need to set is FAQ Section => Yes on your FAQ landing page.

Check out the page type you're using and make sure it's rendering an area called Main. Let me know what you find!

Hi Matt,
thanks a lot for your detailed instruction! You helped me to finally understand, that the area where the full answer is displayed, has to be exactly called "Main" (as defined in the file faq_entries.php).

So i created a new page type with an area called "Main", since the main area of my default page type is named differently, and now the content of the full answer shows up as expected.

Thank you!
Michael
