There are actually 2 areas of functionality I get asked bout that are closely related as they both use similar infrastructure. Multiple uploads and drag-drop uploads.

Both are on my watch list. Last time I investigated, my conclusion was that a lot (lets call it 50%) of site visitors would end up falling back to the existing functionality. Just look at the number of forum posts about the c5 file manager and multiple uploads, and that is in a much more controlled situation than the front end this addon works within.

So yes, when I feel the overall infrastructure is suitably mature and I have time to spare, multiple uploads and drag-drop uploads will be added to Front End File Uploader. But that moment has not yet arrived.

If you enable the auto-upload options, selecting and uploading a series of files is a pretty slick process. Front End File Uploader is about as streamlined a process as can be achieved reliably for all end users.

v2.0 now includes a multiple upload option, so a number of files can be queued then uploaded together.

Also in v2.0, drag and drop uploading also implements queued uploads.
