Text truncate?

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I'm adding a caption to an image and it won't take the last two words in the sentence. Is it setup to truncate characters? If so, where in the code do I edit that?

Thanks!

I don't think it is set up to text truncate. Can you view the page source
and see if it shows up there? If it does then its just being hidden by css-
do overflow-x:auto; if its not then its more complicated, and I can't test
until 3:00 est today.

I actually forgot to mention that. It doesn't show up in the source code. I tried editing another one of the captioned images on the page thinking it might be an issue with storing in the db when editing, but that wasn't the case.

Here is the link to the page I'm talking about. You'll see in the 'Core Values' image that the text is being cut off.

can you try adding another image with a lot of text like 100+ words and see
where it gets cut off if it does?

It does get cut off. I didn't count the characters, but it looked roughly like the same amount. I put in the overflow css style to see if it worked, but didn't.

I actually got into the database to see how it was being stored and that field is being stored as a VARCHAR which is limited to 255 characters. I changed it to TEXT and it's working fine now.

Hi guys,
Would you be able to give a brief description on how I can change 'VARCHAR' to 'TEXT'as described above? I'm having the exact same issue.

Many thanks!

Log into your cPanel and find your C5 database. You should be able to track down the table that stores the image caption information. I don't remember which table it is off the top of my head. Just edit the table's field that stores the caption from VARCHAR to TEXT.

I would suggest that if you're not familiar with editing databases that you just limit your caption to 255 characters and not edit the database.
