Event Colours

Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't get items to show up in the colours I assign to them.
I have a single calendar and have added three events. Each event has a different "Color For Item Background" and "OrUse Calendar Color" is not checked. Similarly "Color For Item Text" is set to a different value and "Or Use Calendar Text Color" is not checked.
However, all events show up in the background and foreground colour assigned to the calendar itself.

I having the same problem, is there a fix or procedure I need to do.
Don't worry - this was a while ago now, and I seem to remember there was another setting that needed to be on - and once I'd enabled it everything was sweet.
Ok cool my mail app went a bit wonky and your email showed up and I thought it was sorted. Well at any rate there is a new version coming along that looks a lot nicer in the dashboard :)

I do have the same problem. Calendar does not show the colors i instruct when creating a new event in the calendar. What setting should i change? (Version 1.7.1)
What does your block setting look like?
