Locations Not Deleting With Deleted Listings

Hi, We have deleted the sample listings via the sitemap and yet the locations remain in the search options. Is this an error on our part? How can we correct this please.

those locations are stored within the page attribute employment_locations. you can edit your page attributes through the dashboard.
