make redirect to page more comfortable
Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi guys,
at this time there are two ways to enter the target for the redirect:
URL like: /customers/customer1
this is bad if the page name changes
or
pageID like: /index.php?cID= 204
this is not comfortable/you have to look for the ID have the /index.php?cID= in mind etc.
For that price it would be nice to have the possibility to (easily) choose the page from the sitemap, like in all other parts of the CMS as well. It makes things difficult as it is now. I have to "teach" customers stuff, that don't has to be.
Best regards
Torsten

Hi Mike,
I miss that option when I have to redirect a user (than it works only with attributes - see attached image).

Hello,
Ah yes, this is true. Currently the Login Redirect uses a text attribute for that. This may be something we look at in the future as I am aware of the Page Selector Attribute in the Marketplace that could work well with this.
Best Wishes,
Mike

Hi Mike - don't forget your customers ;)
For my customer (who don't knows pageIDs) its not really comfotable to set a redirect. It would be nice to have that (basic) feature in the near future.

Hi Torsten,
That's a good suggestion for a future version, I agree. However the core team is pretty busy with other projects and I don't believe we have any new features coming soon for the Login Attribute Redirect. If you need a solution for your client, I recommend hiring a developer from our Jobs board to customize the add-on for you:

Hi Matt,
I know and I like the usability of 5.7 (the team is working hard on). But I ask this question nearly one year ago and after that I get the same answer... there are always other projects...
I don't ask for craszy functions. Just for a page selector, that works in other parts of the cms as well - why not in a core team add-on?
Regards
Torsten

Hi Torsten,
Unfortunately there is no shortage of feature requests for our add-ons. In fact, the add-ons that get the most new features are often the same ones that clients have paid us to build or extend.
You're always welcome to fork our code and modify it to your liking.

With Login Redirect you should be able to select a page with the Page Selector. At that point it is saved in the database as a page cID but is then converted into a path before display. If you change the page path it will still track the new path.
It's possible I am missing something in your description. Were you not using the Page Selector?
Best Wishes,
Mike
