Login Add-On Breaks Other Add-Ons

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I'm having a strange conflict with this add-on. It is rendering inop two other add-ons. One being the lightbox effect on the Simple Facebook Gallery.

Does anyone know a work around for the Login extra to solve this issue?

I should add I am on the latest versions of both and the only fix thus far is uninstalling the add-on. Removing it from the page does not fix the conflict.

Update: Upon further testing it is in fact only when the add-on is applied to a page that it breaks the galleries.

Hello,
I'm not aware of this block causing conflicts with anything, but I suppose it is possible. Are you seeing any kind of javascript error on the page?

I am getting this from the dev console on the Simple Facebook Gallery page:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'hide' of undefined view.js?v=0e7fa0f612799d817084c9af11694c5d:18

I thought it might be a jQuery conflict so I tried using the noConflict() method, but didn't fix it. I might not be placing it in the correct spot however.

It's not the end of the world. The Simple Facebook Gallery has nill support and some problems, and looks like I'm going to have to drop it anyway.

Other than the Login add-on breaking the lightbox effect the gallery also does not feed the image titles, so you're left with "-" as a title for every image, no good.

It's a really great add-on for those who use the FB photo galleries so they don't have to repeat all the work on their website. Be nice if slayer would get back on board and fix those couple items.

Yeah, sometimes free add-ons are just out there more or less as code examples, or something that worked once, or works in a certain context but needs some repairing or fine-tuning to work again.

UPDATE:

So there are other problems I'm having that have helped narrow this down.

The Login add-on is breaking the Fancybox jQuery plugin in general and anything that relies on it. Which is why the FB gallery stopped working, and also a couple mini FBgalleries I have on the site.

Specific cause is the hide() method. I seem to remember a problem with this method before where the version of jQuery did not support it.

I can't be the only one running into this problem. Does anyone else have the most current version of C5 with a Fancybox Gallery and running the Login box add-on running?

Want to say thank you to GregJoyce. From his message about the mysterious view.js file that was in the Login add-on directory I got to the bottom of the problem.

It seems that when I installed, and was testing, the Popup Login add-on, and then removed it, I did not get a clean uninstall and there were residual files still in the directory. I am not sure if this issue can be recreated while having a full Popup Login active, but due to it trying to also use Fancybox Gallery, possibly a second time, it was breaking the other add-ons.

I got Popup Login and all it's parts properly cleaned out of the directory and everything is working great now!

Thanks again!
