"You do not have permissions to add this page type in that location"?

Permalink Browser Info Environment
When we use Realestate to add a property the "Publish Location" returns the following message:

"You do not have permissions to add this page type in that location. Choose publish location."

How do we amend this issue?

keep in mind I'm on a different timezone here... just got to work. Your issue is a configuration issue related to the concrete5 core permissions system not the package itself, but I'll be happy to point you in the right direction. It sounds like your permissions on that parent page are too restrictive. Try going to your dashboard's sitemap, click the properties page that you're trying to publish underneath of, and adjust the permissions so that the current user can add to it. I'm not sure if you're using the core's simple or advanced permissions system, so the options may vary. You may have to make these changes with the admin account if the current user is already being restricted.

Hi Tony,

Sorry for the urgent nature of my question. I can confirm that we have permissions set to advanced. Both editor and administration user groups have permission set to publish content below the related pages, however when creating a new post we receive the above error message.

As there is obviously something not quite matching the intended permissions setup would you mind looking at the admin system?

I can provide login details via email.

Many thanks

oh wait, maybe I'm misunderstanding what's going on here. can you please confirm that 1) you have a real estate listings/search page type installed somewhere on your site (this is required before adding pages), and 2) that you've selected that page from the publish locations?

Hi Tony,

I can confirm that we have the search/listings installed, and it is one of these pages which have been selected as the location for publishing.

I can also confirm that the 'real estate' add-on was functioning correctly before that latest "google maps" related upgrade.

there isn't anything unique related to permissions with the real estate add-on, so I'm thinking the issue has something to do with the permissions configuration on your site. If you private message me the admin login credentials for your site I can try to see what going on.

Conclusion. For anyone interested or with a similar issue. We were running Concrete5 5.5.2.1 which has a known issue with Real-Estate permissions.

note that this permissions issue wasn't specific to the real estate package. It was a core bug with composer that was occurring whether or not the real estate package was being used with it. that issue has since been resolved in a later release of concrete5
