Simple News is News Package intended for quick hit news.  Simple News includes a wysiwyg editor, and a list Block that includes two templates - a front page list with RSS feed, and a summary template. 

Simple News offers a more streamlined way to add news by categories, and provides template examples of how to further customize the way your news displays with centralized CSS and Template Views.

News items also can be pre and post dated to start at a certain date, and "fall off" when a set end date passes.
