Just what I needed!

This whole Magic Data suite is brilliant! I needed a way to filter blog posts to registered users' profiles and this block did it! John was a huge help and was on the spot with any questions I had.

Kudos!

Any kind of flexible lists - easy to do

I just needed a quick and easy way to output a Events List as valid hCalendar microformat and doing it with UberList and MagicData was a quick job, also thanks to Johns' great support and help in finding the way.

I am not yet deep in the world of SYMBOLS but I got a feeling - if you need to display a list of anything you cannot do with the built in Nav/PageList-Block - UberList can do it. Once it worked as I immedeateley started braining around for more usecases of it. I am very sure I will find them :)

Thank you, JohntheFish!

This a really great component (Uberlist) of a wider framework

If you want a flexibility way to display and manage data on your site I can thoroughly recommend this framework.

Magic Data is Growing Up

Take a look at all the Page List addons on the Marketplace here. Tons. I own a lot of them. Why are there so many? Because C5's presentation layer is essentially pages and formatted lists of those pages (as is any other medium to large scale website)

The thing is to have a very adaptable set of lists can require a bunch of different, slightly modified, custom templates spread all over your packages. These templates are essentially what all the Page List addons are, besides maybe some new attributes.

Try and open up a menu that contains all those template listings. Now have a client do it. Maddening.

Uber List takes Magic Data and gives it a very powerful presentation layer that all but replaces every other Page List plugin before coffee in the morning. The brilliant part is that you format the lists with stacks arranged any way you want. Then you can reuse those same templates over and over. Magic Data symbols adapt the displayed items to an almost infinite number of usage cases.

John rocks with support and updates. The time you spend learning MD will pay off immensely as well as the measly investment. Bottom line, Uber List alone makes Magic Data a must have tool in your arsenal.
