Question about Derwen theme
Permalink Browser Info Environment
Thank you for including 5 color themes. However, if we wanted to use different colors, could we change it to our own color scheme? Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the help. I do realize that this is 5.6 version. We are still waiting to take the 5.7 version plunge until it has matured more and there are more addons and themes available.
What I like about Derwin are the two colors at the top followed by the possibility of an image across the screen. This is pretty standard now for many websites and would work for us on a number of sites we need to create. I wish there were more like this.
Thanks for the explanation - I wasn't thinking about the css changes - but that certainly could be done to give us the customization we need.

Ok, great. Good luck with your future concrete5 projects. Thanks,

Can I first just check that you are aware that Derwen is a theme for concrete5 v 5.6.x not the new version, v 5.7.x? Just so that you know as sometimes people don't realise and choose the wrong version.
With Derwen, we haven't got a lot of customisation options in the dashboard because there are the colour themes to choose from. I don't know if you are familiar with CSS, but you could choose one of the colour themes that you know you are not going to use and then do a find and replace on the theme colours. The CSS that affects the colour styles are located here:
derwen\themes\derwen\css
You will see that there are different folders for each colour. You would need to change the CSS file called bootstrap.min.css in one of the colour folders and then you would select that colour in the theme switcher. You will see if you open that file that most of the theme colours are at the top so you would need to do a find and replace in Notepad or similar for those colours. Then you would need to save this file somewhere in addition to the copy in the package so it isn't overwritten if you ever update the theme in the future.
Alternatively (best way), if you know how to compile less files, the less files are located here:
derwen\less
You could modify and compile the less file in one of the colour folders and then place the bootstrap.min.css and bootstrap.css files into the corresponding colour folder here:
derwen\themes\derwen\css
We could also do this for you if you prefer, for a charge of £20, or you might find it easier to choose another theme with more colour customisation options. We have a theme for concrete5 v 5.6.x called Salix which has a lot of customisation options in the dashboard, which is here:
https://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/themes/salix/...
And our concrete5 v 5.7.x themes have a lot of control over colour in the dashboard.
