Can't change blog entry page design in Page Type Setting

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi there,

I'm just trying to change the default page design for the blog entry. I would like it to be the right side bar option.

Under, Page Types, Blog Entry, Settings I have the setting set to the right sidebar option. But it renders as the full screen design.

I tried going in to Page Types, Default and it won't let me change it there because it says:
"This is the defaults page for the Blog Entry page type. You cannot change it."

Thanks for any help.
